Right now, I’m on an The Academy Is music video binge and I just finished watching 40 Steps (it’s from Santi B-side). Honestly, you can’t say it’s a music video. It’s more of a montage of the TAI guys and them on the road.
The montage consists of them setting up, joking around with each other, sleeping on random flat surfaces, performing in front of huge crowds, jumping off of Butcher’s drumset and landing onto the stage, playing and singing as if they were never going to play again, destroying their instruments, etc.
I see the energy radiating off of everyone, especially William. You can tell the crowd’s having a kickass time. The band loves each other as a family, even if William is the one getting most of the attention.
I want that. All of it. Even the sweat and the fuck ups and whatnot. I want us to work as hard as hell to get to that point.
